1.1 Job Listings
When posting a job on ShipTo, you must:
- Provide accurate and complete information about the items to be transported
- Specify correct collection and delivery locations
- Include realistic timeframes and scheduling requirements
- Upload clear photos of items (if applicable)
- Declare any special requirements (e.g., tail-lift, fragile items)
- Disclose any hazardous or restricted items in accordance with UK regulations
1.2 Prohibited Items
You may NOT post jobs for transporting:
- Illegal goods or substances
- Weapons, explosives, or dangerous materials (unless properly declared and compliant)
- Living animals (except with specialist transporters who confirm capability)
- Perishable goods requiring specific licensing (unless disclosed)
- Items with total value exceeding £5,000 without special arrangement
- Cash, negotiable instruments, or precious metals/stones
1.3 Job Accuracy
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your job listing. Significant discrepancies between the listing and actual job (e.g., item size, weight, access requirements) may result in additional charges or job cancellation by the Transporter.
2. Bidding & Quotes
2.1 Receiving Bids
Once your job is posted:
- Registered Transporters will submit bids with their proposed price
- You can view Transporter profiles, reviews, and ratings
- You can communicate with Transporters via our messaging system
- You are under no obligation to accept any bid
2.2 Communication Before Acceptance
IMPORTANT: Before accepting a bid, you should:
- Ask questions about the Transporter's experience and capabilities
- Clarify any uncertainties about the job requirements
- Confirm insurance coverage and vehicle suitability
- Discuss any special requirements or concerns
Note: Do NOT share direct contact information (phone numbers, personal email addresses) before accepting a bid. Use ShipTo's messaging system for all pre-acceptance communication.
2.3 Accepting a Bid
When you accept a bid:
- You enter into a binding agreement with the Transporter
- Your full contact details are shared with the Transporter
- The job is marked as "Accepted" and removed from public bidding
- Payment becomes due (see Payment section below)
3. Payment Terms
3.1 Payment Process
ShipTo uses a two-stage payment process for your security and convenience:
Step 1: Deposit Payment (via PayPal)
When you accept a bid, you pay a deposit via PayPal. This deposit secures the booking and enables contact information exchange.
Step 2: Contact Details Shared
Once the deposit is confirmed, your full contact details (phone number and exact addresses) are shared with the Transporter so they can coordinate the collection and delivery.
Step 3: Remaining Payment (Direct to Transporter)
The remaining balance is paid directly to the Transporter(not through ShipTo). Payment method and timing should be agreed with the Transporter (typically cash, bank transfer, or card upon completion).
3.2 Payment Amount
The deposit paid via PayPal includes the ShipTo service fee:
Deposit (via PayPal): ShipTo platform fee (typically 15% of the quote)
+ Remaining Balance: Paid directly to Transporter
= Total Transport Cost (the Transporter's quoted price)
Example:
- • Transporter's quote: £100
- • ShipTo platform fee (15%): £15
- • Total you pay: £115
- • Deposit via PayPal (to ShipTo): £15
- • Balance to Transporter (on delivery): £100
Important: The deposit amount and payment terms will be clearly shown before you confirm the booking.
3.3 Deposit Payment Methods
We accept deposit payments via PayPal, which includes:
- PayPal balance
- Debit or credit cards (processed through PayPal)
- PayPal Credit (where available)
3.4 Remaining Balance Payment
Payment of the remaining balance is made directly to the Transporter. You should agree on the payment method with your Transporter, which may include:
- Cash on completion
- Bank transfer
- Card payment (if Transporter has card facilities)
- Other methods as mutually agreed
ShipTo does not handle or process the remaining balance payment. This is arranged directly between you and the Transporter.
3.5 Payment Issues
Deposit Issues: If your deposit payment fails, you may retry or use an alternative PayPal payment method. Contact details will only be shared once the deposit is successfully processed.
Remaining Balance Issues: Any disputes regarding the remaining balance should be resolved directly with the Transporter. Non-payment may result in negative feedback and affect your ability to use the platform.
